Wind Load and Vibration: Choosing LED Floodlights for 35m High-Mast Structures

LED floodlights installed on 35m high-mast structures are exposed to significant wind forces and potential vibration. For ports, stadiums, logistics yards, and large outdoor facilities, luminaire selection should therefore consider not only lumen output but also weight, projected area, mounting method, and optical distribution.

Beam Angle Matters at 35m

The 40SL offers 25°, 35°, 45°, and 55° beam angles . At 35m mounting heights, optical selection should be based on the distance between the mast and the target area.

Narrower beams can provide longer throw distances, while wider beams can distribute light across larger areas. An IES/LDT photometric simulation should be used to determine the appropriate beam angle, fixture quantity, aiming angle, illuminance, and uniformity.
