AL1070 Cold-Forged Aluminium for Outdoor Lighting

Compared with simply selecting a fixture based on wattage, the housing construction should also be evaluated when lighting is installed in exposed coastal or port environments.
Cold-forged aluminium can provide a robust housing structure and effective thermal pathway. However, no aluminium housing should automatically be described as completely “salt-spray proof.” For ports, the complete luminaire—including surface treatment, fasteners, seals, cables, and installation environment—should be considered.

Protection for Coastal Port Applications
The 40SL provides IP66 protection and is specified for wet, damp, and dry locations. It can operate from -40°C to +45°C and offers optional 10kV/20kV surge protection , which is useful for exposed outdoor installations.
For strong sunlight, the fixture can use either a tempered glass or PC lens , with the product page specifying anti-UV performance.
Flexible Optics for High-Mast Lighting
Ports have different lighting zones, including container yards, truck lanes, loading areas, and access roads. The 40SL offers multiple optical options, including 25°, 35°, 45°, and 55° , allowing designers to select distributions according to mounting height and target area.
