Complete Turnkey High Mast Pole & Floodlight Packages Football Rugby
Large football and rugby facilities need more than high-output floodlights. A successful high-mast lighting project requires the right combination of lighting fixtures, poles, mounting systems, optics, electrical equipment and lighting controls .
FORTOMO provides high-power LED sports lighting designed for football fields, rugby grounds, stadiums, training facilities and other large outdoor sports applications.
Complete High Mast Lighting for Football and Rugby
High-mast lighting is widely used for large sports fields because elevated mounting positions allow fewer lighting points to cover a large playing area.
A complete project design should consider:
- High mast pole height
- Number and position of poles
- LED floodlight power
- Beam angle and optical distribution
- Required illuminance and uniformity
- Wind loading
- Electrical supply and controls
- Maintenance access
The correct combination of these elements helps create an efficient and maintainable sports lighting system.
FORTOMO 40SL LED High-Power Floodlight
The FORTOMO 40SL is designed for high-power outdoor sports and large-area lighting applications.
It is available in 500W, 600W and 750W versions, with luminous efficacy of up to 150–170 lm/W . Multiple beam distributions allow designers to match the floodlight to pole height, field dimensions and aiming requirements.
Key 40SL features include:
- 500W / 600W / 750W
- 150–170 lm/W
- NEMA 2–6 optical options
- 25° / 35° / 45° / 55° options listed
- IP66 outdoor protection
- 10kV / 20kV surge protection options
- 100–277Vac / 100–240Vac input
- 0-10V, PWM, DALI and DMX512 controls
- 360° adjustable mounting angle
- Low EPA design
- 5, 7 or 10-year warranty options
Designing a Turnkey Stadium Lighting Package
For a football or rugby project, the floodlight should be selected together with the high-mast structure rather than as an isolated product.
FORTOMO 40SL luminaires can be incorporated into a complete lighting design according to the project's mounting height, field dimensions and required photometric performance.
For UK projects, engineers should also evaluate local wind conditions and the structural requirements of the mast, foundation and mounting brackets.
Photometric calculations can then determine the number of luminaires, pole positions, aiming angles and beam distributions required to achieve the target lighting performance.
Flexible Optics for Large Sports Fields
Different areas of a football or rugby ground may require different light distributions.
Narrower beams can help project light over longer distances from high mounting positions, while wider distributions can cover larger areas.
The 40SL's multiple optical configurations provide flexibility for high-mast sports lighting designs while helping designers control light distribution across the playing surface.
Reliable LED Lighting for Outdoor Sports
Outdoor football and rugby facilities operate in demanding weather conditions. The 40SL uses a cold-forged aluminium housing, tempered glass or PC lens options, and an IP66-rated enclosure for wet, damp and dry outdoor locations. Its removable driver box is designed to simplify maintenance.
The luminaire also supports intelligent lighting controls, allowing project designers to consider dimming, scheduled operation and different lighting modes where required.
